Common Rat Problems in Lyndhurst

New Forest Capital Rat Challenges
Lyndhurst’s role as the New Forest’s administrative centre creates distinctive rat problems. The concentration of forest governance facilities, tourism infrastructure, and visitor attractions generates substantial food sources and rat harbourage. Ancient woodland surrounds the village, providing established forest rat populations that regularly move into properties, whilst the constant flow of tourists and forest visitors adds seasonal pressure.

Seasonal Rat Activity in Lyndhurst

  • Spring: Forest rats become highly active as ancient woodlands come to life around the village. Tourism season begins with increased visitor centre and attraction activity generating new food sources.
  • Summer: Peak tourist season creates maximum rat pressure from visitor attractions, hotels, and restaurants. Forest rat populations reach their highest levels with extensive breeding in surrounding ancient woodlands.
  • Autumn: Forest mast years significantly affect rat population dynamics throughout the area. Continued tourism maintains rat activity whilst Verderers’ Court sessions bring additional activity to governance facilities.
  • Winter: Ancient forest provides limited food sources, driving maximum rat pressure onto village properties. Forest governance facilities and heated tourism buildings provide attractive winter shelter for large forest rat populations.

Ground Bees

Wasp removal testimonial. I called to have someone come and remove either bees or wasps flying out of a hole in the ground this spring.  It was like Heathrow’s main runway and as we have three small children and a dog we very concerned. They arrived right on time in smart van and identified them as bumble bees that often inhabit old rodent burrows. I was astounded that Mr Cherry was able to smoke the bees and MOVE them to a safe location in the New Forest. We are safe and the bees are safe. I would highly recommend this company.
